Who are the IPW?
The Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW) is a self-regulatory body established to promote and uphold high standards within the will writing and estate planning profession.
ELM Legal Services is a member of the IPW, meaning we follow their Code of Practice and are subject to their disciplinary framework. This helps ensure transparency, integrity, and protection for our clients.
What is the IPW Code of Practice?
The IPW Code of Practice sets out the professional and ethical standards all members must follow. It covers:
- Conduct during client appointments
- Transparency in pricing and service delivery
- Advertising and marketing standards
- Handling of client data and confidentiality
- Complaint handling procedures
- Continuing professional development (CPD) obligations
It is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) under its Consumer Codes Approval Scheme.
